The Last Gift

 

I  packed all my belongings, and waited for the cab. This break up was going to be hard for us both. I cant believe I got cold feet, just two days before the wedding. But, it’s better to part ways in truce instead of staying together with regret. 

After, the verbal storm she told me to be gone before dark. Before leaving, I made one last trip to the market, to buy something for her.  I left her favourite flowers on the table and wondered if she would keep them or throw them out as well.
